wlaninfo
Introduction
wlaninfo.sh is a Bash command-line utility that reports detailed information about wireless LAN interfaces on Linux systems. It consolidates data that would otherwise require the use of multiple tools and methods to obtain, closing gaps in the standard Linux wireless toolchain.
Unlike existing tools, it shows the data that matters most when judging performance and proper operation, and translates raw values into a human-readable format. At the time of writing, it provides more information than any single alternative, even on full desktop Linux distributions.
A unique and user-friendly feature of wlaninfo.sh is the --privacy flag, which redacts MAC addresses, SSIDs, and public TCP/IP addresses, making it safe and more convenient to share logs in a troubleshooting context.
